An Ode to the Parent Trap

My favorite movie of all time is the Parent Trap. I feel like I have flings with other movies, but the parent trap will always be the one. I have seen it countless times, and it is probably the reason why I have always wanted to go to a really remote summer camp and go to London. #justsayin

The best thing is that literally this movie is great for a six year old and I still love it, and I'm in high school.

I think that Lindsay Lohan will always be the best young actress (hello, Mean Girls?) before she royally messed all of that up in recent years.

So if you haven't seen this classic movie, or need a refresher, here we go...

Two people meet on a cruise ship, and they fall in love. They end up getting married and having twin girls (both played by LiLo) named Hallie and Annie. They end up getting a divorce, and each keeps a twin. The dad ends up with a vineyard in California, with Hallie.  The mom moves back to London with Annie. They do not have contact with each other, and neither girl remembers she has a twin, and they do not remember anything about their absent parent. The twins both end up at the same sleep away camp, and have a major rivalry. Classic pranks at camp. They realize they are twins, and decide to switch places. While Hallie is gone, his dad meets a beautiful and betchy gold digger named Meredith. The twins end up ruining that relationship, by tricking their parents to meet at the same place. The parents eventually end up together, and all is well!

One of the best aspects of this film is the handshake with Annie and her butler. OMG like I need to learn it. I actually attempted to memorize it when I was like six but just failed.

i love parent trap sooo much

Meredith is literally the best TV villain. She's just... so terrible I cant even.

Literally the "Who the heck do you think you are, Meredith" face.

Oh and the best part is that I might be going to London this summer, and here is the address for the house where Annie and her mom lived: 23 Egerton Terrace, Kensington, London, England, UK

I NEED TO GO because that would actually make me so happy. Don't even get me started on my love for England, the royals, and all things British accent related. Don't EVEN.

Whats your favorite movie??

Packing for France

I am headed to France soooo soon! My parents and I have been brainstorming what I should bring, and this packing list was kind of the product of that!

I have been working on this for a while, and I thought it was funny that my friend from "the Belle in Pearls" posted something similar to this recently! #France2k14

Packing for France

I am planning on bringing...

PANTS:
- My tried-and-true skinny jeans
- Two pairs of black leggings (and maybe my grey pair as well)
- 3-4 pairs of my black Urban Outfitters high rise skinnies. (I swear by these. They're not too expensive, stretchy, and warm.)

- black vest (So versatile, I can wear basically any shirt I am bringing with this)
- Barbour jacket (my actual obsession)
- rain jacket

TOPS:
- 4+ long sleeve shirts
- Oxford shirt
- Patagonia fleece
- 2+ sweaters
- 2+ long sleeve tees for sleeping and running (I have to stay in shape for lacrosse)

SHOES:
- Riding boots (the perfect walking shoes for when it's cold outside)
- Wallabees
- rain boots

DRESSES:
-black sweater dress
-2 party dresses

Literally I am so excited and scared! Wish me luck!

Kels

Thursday Pinterest Day 6: France

I am headed off to France for my school's French exchange trip really soon and I have very mixed feelings. I am overwhelmingly excited to explore France with some of my good friends from school, but as a vegetarian who doesn't LOVE cheese, I am scared for the cuisine aspect of the trip. I am also kind of scared because I will be missing a week of school and two weeks of lacrosse to go on this trip, and I do not want to get too far behind!

I have been planning what I am going to bring, and I will share that with you soon! Hopefully the weather will not be too bad. My teacher told me that a few years ago it was cold and rainy all but one day of the trip! He also said it could be in the 50-60's or it might snow. I have really no idea of what to expect! Today I will share some of the pictures that I have found via Pinterest that are getting me really hyped for the trip!

Have you been to France before? Any advice for what to see or what to wear? I would love to hear anything you might have to say!

XOXOXO,
Kelsey

College Testing

I might have mentioned a little while ago that I took the SAT in January. I took it at a public school nearby, and it was interesting seeing so many people that I knew from my area! I recently got back my scores, but I have decided not to tell people my scores. I might let a few details slip to some of my friends, but honestly its very personal and my future rides on it. I don't want to feel bad because one of my friends did better than me, and I wouldn't want someone else to feel like that either.

Luckily, I did well enough on my SAT that I will be able to apply to some of the schools on my list with relative confidence. However, I definitely will take the SAT again and try to improve my scores!

I also took the ACT in February, which was interesting. I thought aspects of it were a lot harder for me than the SAT. I am not sure when I will hear back from them with my scores!

I studied for both the SAT and the ACT with the official prep books. I studied a good amount for the ACT, but I studied much more for the SAT. I wonder if that will be reflected at all in my scores, even though they have relatively similar material and I only took them 2-3 weeks apart.

For those who do not know, the SAT and the ACT are both tests that seniors and juniors in high school take. Most colleges will require a student to send in either their ACT or SAT scores. You can also send in both of them if you wish. The ACT material is only different from the SAT material in that it has a science section. Also, the ACT will not deduct points if you miss a question. They add up how many you get correct for your score. For the SAT, no points are deducted if you leave a question blank, but if you get a problem wrong they will remove points.

College is really stressing me out right now! I am in a really hectic part of my junior year. I have three or four major projects going on right now, as well as a lot of work for the yearbook.

I cannot wait for summer!

XOXOXO,
Kels
