Sista-Friends

My yellow lab, Pepper and her sister Hazel (who lives with our family friends) are the cutest things ever. I took a break from studying today to play with them and take their pictures. They love posing for the camera (I'm not even kidding). Today was so beautiful, it's very annoying that I have to stay inside and study for finals!

I love my two favorite sisters!

Another thing that I am really excited about is that my favorite flower is in bloom.... the hydrangea! I seriously am obsessed with this flower, it reminds me of Nantucket!

Summer is so close! If you are out of school, enjoy these beautiful days outside!

Kelsey

Summer's Gradually Approaching...

I cannot believe that I only have a little bit over a week left of school! The seniors are gone, and it's really strange that I am about to be a senior myself. The scary world of college applications is almost around the corner. I think that I will be applying early decision to my favorite school, but nothing is set in stone. I recently finished this English class-wide project where all the students have to make art projects and write essays about themselves. My favorite essay (I had to write 4 essays) talked about the importance of siblings: it's something I really believe in. The second part of my project, where I had to make 2 additional free writing pieces and an art piece, I did by making a magazine. In the magazine, I talked about Nantucket (and used my Nantucket Guide that I posted on this site during August), my time at my school, selfies, Paris, music, and me! I am so proud of my magazine, but I am scared because I have to present it on Tuesday.

I can't wait until summer, because that's when I have so much time to write blog posts.

XOXOXO,

Kelsey

Living

My friend recommended I watch the movie "Now is Good". I listened to her, and finally today I had the time to watch it on Netflix. OMG CINEMATIC PERFECTION.

The movie follows the life of Tessa, a teenager with leukemia who has stopped her chemo treatments, in an attempt to live vibrantly, instead of suffering a slightly longer life. She falls in love with her (gorgeous) neighbor Adam, and writes a list of things she wants to do before she dies.

This movie really made me sob. However, most importantly, it encouraged me to do the things I love and not waste time doing things that don't matter.

Here are things that I try to live by:
Do what you love. Love fiercely. Be brave. Don't let people who don't matter make you feel like you don't matter. You can do great things if you act selflessly and never give up. Don't give up on something because it seems too hard. Be yourself. Sing your favorite songs at the loudest volume your throat will let you. Dance with your friends. Never ever make someone feel bad on purpose. Keep mean thoughts to yourself. Explore as much as possible. Always smile, even when you want to cry. Always say hello. Don't do something because you think you have to.

Playlist for this post: Noserings & Shoestrings (Nina Nesbitt), Fever (Black Keys), Sing (Ed Sheeran), Amber (311)

love,
K
